You’ve got good robots, bad robots, and annoying kids, and they’re all portrayed faithfully in regards to the animated show.
Though not wholly original, Prime does a good job of advancing its narrative with frequent cut-scenes and authentic voice acting from the actual show’s stars. This is your standard good versus evil plotline, and if you’ve watched the Prime series on TV, you should be familiar with what to expect from the game story-wise. Prime follows the exploits of Optimus Prime and the Autobots as they continue to do battle with Megatron and the Decepticons. What you’re left with is a functional and entertaining brawler that’s best suited for younger fans of the TV series. Unfortunately, the action it presents tends to be a bit mindless, and the tacked on motion controls do absolutely nothing to make the experience any more engaging. The Wii rendition of Transformers Prime – The Game is, for the most part, an enjoyable romp, as well. The 3DS version of the game proved to be a solid handheld title.
Given how popular Transformers Prime is with the kiddos (and the kiddos at heart), it only made sense for Activision to publish a Wii title based on the computer-animated show.
